About Coach

I have always been an independent athlete. I did not enjoy team sports when I was growing up but quickly learned that working out on my own brought balance to my life: mentally, emotionally, and physically. There came a time though when I was no longer growing in my athletic endeavors and I was bored with my solo routine. And that just so happened to be when my friend introduced me to CrossFit! She shared her newfound passion with me and convinced me that I should try it. After one time I was hooked. I loved everything about CrossFit...the challenge, the encouragement, and accomplishing things I never would have done on my own. CrossFit was what I needed to take my fitness to the next level. I never would have thought my greatest athletic achievements would occur in my 40s, but here I am, stronger than ever!

Turning Point

I did not know what I was capable of athletically until my CrossFit journey began eight years ago. I did not call myself an athlete or believe that I was a strong woman. I just knew I needed exercise for all of the benefits it brings and thought I would continue working out at home alone in my basement forever! (I most certainly never imagined that I would pick up a barbell!) I allowed myself to believe that I could carry on without community, coaching, or trying something new. But over time, I decided that it was worth it to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. I listened to my friend's encouragement and advice and it changed my life! I know what I am capable of now because of CrossFit.

Motivation & Passion

My purpose for coaching is to help others experience the personal growth and fulfillment that CrossFit offers through the sport and the community. I love welcoming those who are new to CrossFit and coming alongside them as they discover what they are capable of, both mentally and physically. I love celebrating the victories and offering encouragement when self-doubt or negative self-talk creeps in. I love being a part of a community that is always striving to be better as both athletes and humans. Having the opportunity to coach is such a bright spot in my week and I am truly thankful to be on this journey with so many amazing people!
